この研究会では、英語とスペイン語の文献の輪読を行います。これらの言語での文献読解能力を向上させようとする努力が必要になります。

We cover readings in both English and Spanish. Students will need to make efforts to improve their reading abilities in these languages.

研究会概要

目的・内容

ラテンアメリカ・カリブ地域は、先住民社会の多様性とスペイン・ポルトガルをはじめとしたヨーロッパ諸国による植民地化の結果として、複雑な歴史と社会構造をもつ社会が形成されてきました。また、ラテンアメリカ・カリブとイベリア半島は、現代世界に対して常に異議申し立てを行い、新しいビジョンを提示しようとしてきました。社会の現実（リアリティ）を土台としたこのようなビジョンは、「南からの思考（theories from the South）」と呼ばれたりもします。これがこの研究会の大きな柱になります。ラテンアメリカからの社会科学と人文学に対する新しい提案を学び、検討します。

また、この研究会は、SFCでスペイン語を勉強した先に広がる研究の世界を見てみたいと考える学生のための研究会です。扱う研究分野としては、ラテンアメリカ研究（特に現代の政治と先住民社会の関わり）、ラテンアメリカにおける開発と国際協力、スペイン語圏内の多言語性（multilingüismo）、スペイン語をめぐる社会言語学（特に移民社会における継承言語（idioma de herencia）としてのスペイン語）、第二言語習得論と関係したスペイン語教育を含めた多言語教育などが研究会で扱う分野の射程に入ります。

この研究会の担当教員は、ジェンダー平等、性的多様性と包摂を重視します。スペイン語や開発・国際協力や社会運動に関係する形で、これらの主題をとりあげたいと思います。また、担当教員は、ラテンアメリカではアンデス高地の先住民及び先住民言語を専門としており、この分野を勉強・研究してみたい学生も歓迎します。

研究会は金曜４限に実施され、文献の輪読と参加者による討論・議論を中心とします。文献は英語のものを扱うことが多くなりますので、十分な学術的（アカデミック）な英語の読解能力をもつことが必要になります（ただし必要に応じて教員が丁寧に解説をします）。研究会では、参加学生と教員の間での議論を通じて、着眼点と問題の立て方の技法を伝え、全員の問題関心が相互作用する中で生まれるコミュニティの感覚の醸成を目指します。また、金曜３限にアカデミックなスペイン語を読めるようになるための講読形式の読書会を実施します。新規の参加者は、基本的に金曜３限も参加できることを条件とします。

研究分野の関心が教員と近い場合には、必ずしもスペイン語の授業を履修しスペイン語の知識を持っていなくても、またラテンアメリカやスペイン語圏が研究関心でなくとも、研究会への参加を認める場合があります。その場合は、正式な志望理由書の提出以前に教員に連絡・相談をすることを勧めます。また、研究会の見学・聴講も歓迎します（できるだけ事前に担当教員に連絡をして来てください）。

SFCスペイン語・スペイン語圏研究室では、訪問講師の新谷ロクサーナ先生も日系移民と継承言語を主題とする研究会を火曜日に開催します。関心のある学生はこちらも見てみてください。

Latin America and the Carribean shares a complex history and social structure, deriving from the European (especially Spanish and Portuguese) colonialism and the preceding complex and diverse indigenous societies that dynamically survived it. In the contemporary world, this region, along with the Iberian Peninsula, has been at the forefront of contestatory initiatives and proposal of alternative visions. These diverse proposals based on social realities, or the "theories from the South," with increasing influence in the contemporary social sciences an humanities, lies at the base of academic knowledge to be covered in this research seminar.

This research seminar is designed for students who wish extend their learning of the Spanish language to pursue specialised themes on the Spanish-speaking societies. The research fields to be covered includes Latin American Studies (especially the contemporary/modern politics and its relationship with the indigenous societies), development issues in Latin America, multilingualism within the Spanish-speaking world, Spanish as a heritage language, and Spanish language education and multilingual education.

The instructor of this research seminar values gender equality and sexual diversity. We will be taking up and discussing these topics in relation to the Spanish language, development, and social movements. The instructor specialises, in the Latin American context, in the indigenous peoples of the Andean highlands. We welcome students to pursue these topics.

The main seminar is held on Fridays during the 4th period, and will be based on reading sessions and discussion by the participants. The majority of the readings will be in English, and the participating students can present their views in English, Spanish, and/or Japanese. We will collaborate to develop a mixed-modality seminar in terms of language. There will be a study-group session on reading academic literature in Spanish in the 3rd period on Fridays, and the participating students are expected to also take part in this session.

In some cases where the research interest of the student strongly overlaps with that of the instructor, students may be given the permission to participate even if they lack the knowledge of Spanish or their research interest does not lie in the Spanish-speaking societies. Interested students should contact and consult the constructor before presenting the formal proposal document. Students are welcome to visit and try out the research seminar (you are advised to contact the instructor beforehand).

In the SFC Department of Spanish and Spanish-Speaking Societies, professor Roxana Shintani will be holding a research seminar on Nikkei immigrants and heritage language. Interested students are advised to check this seminar as well.

評価方法

継続的な出席を前提とした上で、発表とディスカッションへの積極的参加（30%）、輪読文献に関する読後感の提出（30%）、学期末の研究報告書の執筆と提出（40%）を組み合わせて評価を行います。

Evaluation will combine the following aspects:
Presentation of seminar readings and participation in discussion (30%)
Written commentaries on the readings covered during the semester (30%)
Term-end research progress report (40%)

大学院アカデミック・プロジェクト「AP多言語多文化共生社会」との連携の下で、藤沢市のスペイン語話者のコミュニティと、子どもたちへの継承スペイン語教育についてのボランティアとフィールド調査を手掛けています。また、神奈川県の日系スペイン語コミュニティを訪問する特別研究プロジェクトを実施する可能性があります。

In coordination with the Academic Project "Multilingual and Multicultural Societies," we are developing collaborative relationships with the Spanish-speaking community of the Fujisawa city, and Spanish heritage language education to the children of this community.

課題

輪読文献に関する学期中の報告、輪読文献に関する学期末の読後コメントの提出、及び自分の設定した研究テーマに関する各学期ごとの研究進捗報告書の提出が課されます。

秋学期も引き続き、学生たちの研究関心に関連する文献を全員で輪読し、議論します。

We will continue reading relevant literature related to the students' research topics, and discuss them.

その他・留意事項

担当教員は、2022年度にサバティカルまたは留学で不在になる可能性がありますが、その期間もオンラインで研究会を実施する予定をしており、期間中も卒プロメンター指導を受け付けます。

The instructor plans to take a one-year leave for the academic year 2022, and during this period the research seminar mentoring for the undergraduate projects will be held on-line.

授業スケジュール

（春学期の研究会は原則的に全ての回をオンラインで実施する予定をしており、その際にWebex Meetingを使用することを考えています。毎回のセッションのためのリンクはSFC-SFS上の該当する回の箇所に記載します。）

初回にイントロダクションを行います。詳細な研究会スケジュールはSFC-SFS上に掲示しますので、授業開始前からMy時間割に登録し、随時確認をしてください。基本的には輪読文献と参加学生の研究発表を中心として、分野とテーマの違う者たちが全員で互いにコメントをする中で問題関心の核を発見して、育てていく過程を重視します。

春学期は４限の研究会では、学生たちの研究関心に関連する文献を全員で輪読し、議論します。具体的には、スペイン語における包摂的な言葉づかいの展開、アメリカ合衆国南部でのクレオール文化の形成、中米パナマの先住民をめぐる政治と行政、南米アンデス高地のジャガイモをめぐる農業技術と文化などを扱います。扱う書籍は「教材・参考文献」欄に挙げ、より詳細な文献リストはSFC-SFSで示します。

３限のサブゼミでは、担当教員が専門とする南米アンデス社会の社会形成に関する文献をスペイン語原典で読みます。

A general introduction will be given in the first class of the semester, and concrete schedule will be given through SFC-SFS. Students are advised to register the seminar through MY時間割 to check the course content.

In the main seminar (Friday, 4th period), the topics to be covered in the spring semester will include: development of inclusive language in Spanish, formation of creole cultures in the southern United States, politics and public policy around the indigenous peoples of Panamá, agricultural technology and culture of potatoes in the Andean region among others.

In the subseminar (Friday, 3rd period), we shall read texts related to the social formation of Andean societies in Spanish.
