この研究会に参加する学生は、アイヌ語の初級の知識をもっていることが望まれます。「アイヌの言語と文化」を並行して履修しつつ、中川裕『ニューエキスプレス　アイヌ語』（白水社、2013年）などを必ず手元において、少しずつ勉強をしましょう。また、口承文学の世界については、同じ著者の『語り合うことばの力――カムイたちと生きる世界』（岩波書店、2010年）が基礎になります。これも輪読では扱いませんが、各自が読んでおくことが望ましいです。

Students participating in this seminar are expected to possess sufficient knowledge of written academic Japanese. Those who haven't taken the Aynu Language and Literature course taught by this instructor are advised to study on their own the language based on the following textbook:
Nakagawa Hiroshi. New Express Aynu (Hakusuisha, 2013) (in Japanese). Also the book by the same author: Katariau Kotobano Sekai (Iwanami, 2010) is an important introduction to the oral narratives in the Aynu language, which all students should be reading.

研究会概要

目的・内容

アイヌ語という、日本語のすぐ隣で話されながらも全く異なる言語について、一通りの知識を得ることを目指し、アイヌ語を自分たちの重要な言語だと感じている同世代の若いアイヌの人たちと繋がり、その思いを理解しようとします。また、アイヌ語の口承文学の原文テクストを用いながら、口承文学のジャンル、20世紀を通じて重要な役割を果たした人々の足跡、及びアイヌの人々の精神生活と口承文学のかかわりについて理解を深めることを目指します。

研究会では議論を通じて、それぞれの学生の理解と問題関心を深めていく過程を重視します。個人研究の主題はアイヌ語とアイヌ文化に限定せず取り組むことが可能で、口承文学や口承の歴史、及び先住民の言語や少数言語の問題、フィールドワークに基づく社会科学、文学と社会のつながりなど、広く人類学を中心とした人文学・社会科学・応用言語学のテーマに関心のある学生の研究会参加を歓迎しますが、アイヌ語を学び理解できるようになろうと努力することが大前提です。

言語の習得を伴う内容を扱うため、研究会は木曜４限に設定されますが、５限も使って研究会を運営しますので、学生はこの全体への参加ができることが必要です。研究会では、ダイレクトメソッドを用いたアイヌ語による日常会話の練習、アイヌ語の口承文学テキストの読解と実際の演唱、アイヌ語中級文法の講義、重要文献の輪読、学生の研究構想及び成果の発表などを行います。

アイヌ語の学習・研究と関連研究分野の主要業績は日本語で発表されるため、最新動向のフォローには日本語の知識が不可欠であり、この研究会は日本語で運営されます。しかし、日本語の知識が完璧である必要はなく、担当教員は英語を使用することができ、GIGAの教育にも携わっています。研究会内のプレゼンや期末の研究報告は英語で行うことも可能で、日本語については随時アシストをします。関心のあるGIGAコースの学生は随時相談をしてください。また学期中の研究会の見学も歓迎しています。この研究会には、大学院生や外部の関心のある人も参加しています。具体的には教員に直接問い合わせをしてください。

A relatively new research seminar started in the fall of 2015, we will learn the Aynu language which is completely different from Japanese, and read or listen to the aynu oral literature. We will be dealing with the aynu religion and cosmology, making sense of the complex development and organisation of the aynu oral literature, following the trajectories of important intellectual figures of the twentieth century, exploring the characteristics of oral performances and oral texts, and understanding the pressing issue of the world's minority languages.

We welcome students interested in the above-mentioned issues, but all students will be required to learn the Aynu language. As there are no other formal courses on Aynu language in this SFC campus, in addition to the formal research seminar held in the 4th period on Thursday, but this will continue on to the 5th period, where a students-led Aynu language study group and reading sessions will be organised. Students participating in this research seminar will be required to attend both sessions every week.

During the formal research seminar meetings, we will hold students' research proposal sessions, reading and analysis of research monographs, text analysis of aynu oral literature, and explaining intermediate-level aynu language grammar.

評価方法

研究会への継続的な参加を前提として、学期末の研究についての進捗報告（40%）、輪読文献に関する読後感の提出（30%）、及び研究会への参加と貢献（30%）に基づいて評価を行います。

On the basis of participation in research seminars, students will be evaluated upon the semestral research progress report (40%), commentary paper on the literature covered in the reading sessions (30%), and contribution to the discussion (30%).

関連プロジェクト

春期休暇中には、二風谷で合宿を兼ねた特別研究プロジェクトを実施します。また秋学期直前と秋学期終了後２月にそれぞれ１日を用い、研究発表会を行います。

A field study trip to Hokkaido with fieldwork and short but intensive aynu language practice sessions is being planned for mid-September.

課題

研究会での輪読の報告が課されます。また、学期末に自身の研究についての進捗報告と、研究会での輪読文献に関する読後感を提出してもらいます。

Students will present a progress report on their own research, along with commentaries on the literature we read in the seminar. We will organize a two days overnight presentation and discussion session in the beginning of February.

来期の研究プロジェクトのテーマ予定

秋学期は、知里幸恵の弟である知里真志保の人生の軌跡と業績を扱い、現代のアイヌ語やアイヌ文化をめぐる運動の先駆者として考察することを予定しています。

We plan to reflect upon the lives and works of Chiri Yukie and Chiri Mashiho, as early 20th century precursors of contemporary Aynu language and Aynu culture movements.

その他・留意事項

担当教員は2022年度にサバティカルあるいは留学で不在になる可能性があり、この期間はオンラインで研究会を実施します。またこの期間も卒プロメンターは引き受けます。

The seminar instructor is planning to take a one-year leave in 2022, and during this period the research seminar and undergraduate project mentoring will be held on-line.

授業スケジュール

（今学期の授業は原則として全ての回をオンラインで実施する予定をしています。おそらくZoomを用います。しかし、状況に応じて変更することがあります。）
詳細なスケジュールはSFC-SFSで示します。各学生はMy時間割での登録を通じて確認をしてください。
研究会では、ダイレクトメソッド（テ・アタランギ）を通じたアイヌ語の練習に取り組みながら、知里幸恵の『アイヌ神謡集』の神謡を読みつつ実際にうたってみることに各学生が取り組み（片山龍峯氏と中本ムツ子氏による復元の取り組みの音声を参考にします）、また知里真志保の生涯に関して輪読を行います。

学期中盤で、学生による研究進捗発表の機会を２〜３週かけて設けます。

We will combine the study of aynu language with reading of its oral literature. We will also be reading monographs and theories on anthropology. The reading materials on anthropology are indicated in the corresponding section. At the middle of the semester, students will present the progress of their personal research.
