研究会等で、自分の研究成果を記述したり、発表したりした経験のあること。そして、今後も自分の研究成果を積極的に人に表現（書いたり、話したり）し、またそのチャンスを生かして自分のスキルを向上させる計画のあること。 As a prerequisite, you are required to have past experience in describing or presenting your study/research results at seminars, etc. and intend to continue to actively present your study/research results to others (in writing and orally) in the future and improve your skills by so doing. |

科目概要
事実を述べ、自分の意見を伝え、自分の考えを相手とシェアする手法を教授します。この手法は、理工系の論文のカタに共通する所があります。そこで主に理工系の論文の書き方、そして論文は何を評価されるのか、についても教授します。
履修生の文理は問いません。文系の論文を書く方が難しいです。そこでまず基礎として理工系の論文の書き方を学ぶことをお勧めします。
この授業の前半で教授することは、欧米では小学校から教えられています。将来、この教育を受けた欧米人と渡り合う、グローバルリーダに嘱望されている履修生には、重要なスキルでもあります。
Scientific Writing Workshop teaches how to state facts, communicate your opinions and share your thoughts with others. The methods and techniques covered in this workshop are common among scientific and technical papers as to the kata (forms). Students are taught how to write scientific and technical papers and how those papers are evaluated.
You can be a Humanities student or a Sciences student to take this workshop. It is more difficult to write Humanities papers. Learning how to write scientific and technical papers first as a basic skill is therefore highly recommended.
The first half of this workshop covers what is taught in elementary schools in the Western world. The skills you will learn will prove to be very important in the future when you become a global leader dealing with Westerners who were taught the skills in school.

主題と目標／授業の手法など
主題:
事実を述べ、自分の意見を伝え、自分の考えを相手とシェアする手法を教授します。この手法は、理工系の論文のカタに共通する所があります。そこで主に理工系の論文の書き方、そして論文は何を評価されるのかについても教授します。
補足:
論文は、一つの著作、作品でもあり、さらに学会でオーソライズされ、一定の評価を得たものとして、世の中へ出ます。論文を書き、発表することは、＜一人の研究者として、自分の考えを世の中に表明する＞ことであり、同時に、自分の考えで社会になんらかの影響を与えることでもあります。時には一つの論文が世の中を動かしてしまうことさえあるのです。
逆に研究は、その多くが公的なものであり、社会のニーズに答え、社会で何らかの役目を担うことが期待されています。
早々と研究会に参加するチャンスがあり、時間をかけて、自分のペースで研究に取り組むことができます。本学SFCならではの環境を生かして、学会の査読論文に挑戦してみてはどうでしょうか。
いずれにせよ、研究会に入り研究をするのです。そこまでしたならば、学内に留めておくのは惜しいです。ぜひ論文という学会に認められた著作を通じ、自分の考えで、社会を少し動かしてみる経験をしてはどうでしょう。この授業ではその基礎を教えることで、履修生のチャレンジを応援します。
目標レベル:
相手が理解し、相手と議論できる、自分の考えの伝え方の修得を目標にします。また論文に始まり、新聞・雑誌の記事、人の話も分析できるようになることも目標です。
補足:
授業では、理工系の研究の進め方、論文の書き方の一つのカタを教えます。これは論理的にモノを考え、それを人に分かるように伝える方法の一つでもあります。
研究を進め、論文を執筆するプロセスは、自分に問い、自分の考えを求めることです。そして、それを客観的に捉え、自分の研究を読む、聞く相手の立場で、論理的に記述し、表現することでもあります。またそれが面白い知的な作業であることも伝えたいと思います。
大学で取り組んだ研究を、そのまま社会に出て続けられることは、希なことです。しかし研究をしたことがあるか、ないか、論文を書いたことがあるか、ないか、つまり、そのトレーニングを受けたことがあるか、ないかで、業務遂行の仕方、仕事のできにも違いが出てきます。
授業の手法など:
本授業にはActive learningを採用します、授業の主役は履修生です、授業を楽しんで下さい。
Main theme:
This workshop teaches how to state facts, communicate your opinions and share your thoughts with others. The methods and techniques covered in this workshop are common among scientific and technical papers as to the kata (forms). Students will be taught how to write scientific and technical papers and how those papers are evaluated.
Additional notes:
Each academic paper is a piece of work, and is made public as something that is authorized and recognized as valuable by an academic society. Writing a paper and publishing it means expressing your ideas and thoughts in society as a researcher. At the same time, it means affecting society in a way or another with your idea or thought. Sometimes, a single paper moves and changes the entire society.
On the other hand, most studies or researches are public in nature and are expected to respond to society’s needs and to take on certain roles in society.
This SFC offers opportunities early on to participate in various seminars and to focus on your study/research at your own pace. Students are encouraged to utilize the unique environment of this university’s SFC and challenge writing peer-reviewed papers for various academic societies.
Sooner or later, each student will join some seminar and embark on his/her own research. The results of such efforts should not be wasted. Students are strongly encouraged to write academic papers for publication and try changing the world with their ideas. This workshop supports students’ efforts toward such valuable experience.
Objectives:
To learn how to make yourself understood, how to engage in constructive arguments with others and how to communicate your thoughts effectively to others are the objectives of this workshop. Another objective is to acquire the ability to analyze academic papers, news and magazine articles and other people’s speeches and statements.
Additional notes:
Classroom lectures also teach one of the kata (forms) that should be applied to scientific and technical research and studies and to writing academic papers. It is one of the methods for thinking logically and communicating your thoughts to others in a way they can understand.
The process of advancing your study or research and writing an academic paper is tantamount to asking yourself countless questions and seeking ideas and answers of your own, capturing and expressing the subject matter objectively, and making logical statements always with the reader or audience of your paper in mind. Students are hopefully awakened to the intellectual fun exercise of this process.
It is rather rare that you can continue what you studied or researched in university after you become a society’s member. However, whether or not you have research or study experiences and have been trained for writing academic papers will greatly affect the way and quality of your professional performance in the future.
Methodology:
This course incorporates Active Learning. Each student is the protagonist of each class, and is expected to fully enjoy classroom activities.

Information on textbooks and reference materials is provided as needed in classroom sessions.
提出課題・試験・成績評価の方法など
成績評価は機械的に行います。出席を取ります。
出席回数が半分を超えて、初めて成績評価の対象になります。また期末の提出課題が未提出の場合にも、成績評価の対象にはなりません。
成績は、出席回数に提出課題の評価点数を加算し、確認テストを行う場合には、その点数を加算して最終的な成績評価とします。詳しくは、第1回の授業で説明します。
初回と二回目の授業を除き、授業開始10分までに、遠隔授業への接続が確認できない学生は、欠席とします。また皆さんは学生であり、遠隔授業への携帯電話からの接続、移動しながらの接続は、認めません。
通信エラーで受講できなかった場合には、適宜、対応を考えます。
Students will be graded according to a set of rules. There will be roll calls.
Students become eligible for grading after their attendance exceeds one half of the total number of sessions. Additionally, if a student does not turn in the assignment due at the end of the term, he/she will not be eligible for grading.
Students’ final grades will be calculated by adding the number of attendance and the grades given to assignments, and the scores if quizzes are given. Details are explained at the first classroom session.
Except for the first and second class, you will be considered absent if your connection to the remote lecture site cannot be confirmed by 10 minutes before the start time of each class. Connection via cell phone and connection while moving around are not allowed.
If a communication error prevented you from accessing a class online, measures will be devised as needed to address each such case.
履修上の注意
本講は、感染の可能性のある授業形態のため、感染の心配を排除するため、諸々厳しいことは承知で、遠隔授業を行います。
授業のいかなる撮影、録音、録画、ダウンロードを禁じます。これは著作権・肖像権（学生個々の発表内容・肖像も含む）の保護と、双方向授業を遂行するためです。
必要に応じて参考資料を配布します。パワーポイントの資料は配布しません。
学生さんが集中して勉強できる授業環境とするため、最善を尽くします。ご理解とご協力をお願いします。
各人が安心して授業を受けることができる空間を選べます、集中して授業に参加して下さい。遠隔授業を楽しんでいきましょう。
授業開始前にKeio.jpのサイトから、Cisco Webex をインストールし、Cisco Webex Trainingの場所を確認して下さい。そしてソフトウェアの使い方に目を通して下さい。

In spite of difficulties, this course will be given remotely via Internet to eliminate the concern of infection because of potential infections due to the classroom format of this course.
Any picture taking, sound recording, video taking or downloading of the lecture is prohibited in order to protect any copyright and portrait right (including students’ presentations and their portraits or likeness) and to effect interactive classroom activities.
Reference materials will be distributed as needed. Power Point presentations used in class are not distributed.
Efforts will be made to create the best virtual classroom environment where you can focus on your study. Your understanding and cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
You can choose the space that enables you to focus on the participation in the lecture with ease and comfort.

補講日に、AVホールで、履修生各自が、プレゼンテーション（PPTを使った5分程度のショートスピーチ、テーマは履修生同士で相談）を行い、それを収録し、録画を見ながら、指導します。

Substitute class days are used for students’ presentations (short speeches of about 5 minutes using PPT; the themes to be determined via discussion among fellow students) at the AV Hall, which will be videotaped for later comments and advice from the instructor.
