AUD科目（建築士受験用科目） AUD 授業内で解説したことについて、その実態をどう分析し、どう解決するか、考えてみる課題を出します。フォレスト・サイエンス・アンド・エンジニアリングの上流では＜技術＞的課題、下流では＜制度＞的課題が多いです。そこで、この課題を行うにあたり、本科目以外で、分野としては建築、都市、データサイエンス、情報、機械、デザイン、もしくは経済、政治等、みなさんが実態分析や問題解決を考える上で、必要になる専門的知見が得られる分野のいずれかを履修し、修得していることが望ましい。 Assignments include analysis of real-world problems and possible solutions based on the lectures given in the classroom. In the spring quarter, the problems are mostly technical-related, and the fall quarter focuses mostly on social system-related problems. In tackling the problems, students are expected to have taken any of the following classes as a prerequisite: architecture, urbanism, data science, information technology, mechanical engineering, design, or economics, political science, etc., that helps gain technical and specialized knowledge needed for the analysis and problem solving exercises. |

科目概要
フォレスト・サイエンス・アンド・エンジニアリングでは、山林（森林）、林業から木材、木造までを扱います。このフォレスト・サイエンス・アンド・エンジニアリングの“下流”（秋学期）では、中下流域にある木材や木造を中心に、フォレスト・サイエンス・アンド・エンジニアリングの“上流”（春学期）は、上流域にある山林（森林）や林業を中心にします。専門知識の教授ならびに、実態と問題、それに対する技術や社会制度について解説していくことで、履修生の専門知識の獲得と当該分野への理解を深め、また履修生各自の考えを醸成していきます。
国土の67％をしめる山林とそれに関わる産業は我々の生活に密接に関わっており、また山林から木材、木造に至る問題は、我が国の技術開発や社会制度設計が見失った側面を分かりやすく映し出す鏡とも言えます。
履修生が将来この分野を専門にしなくても、重要な意志決定をすべき時に、思考の広がりと深さに寄与する授業内容にしたいと考えています。
Forest Science and Engineering covers forests/timberland, forestry, lumber production and wooden architecture. The fall quarter of this course focuses on lumber production and wooden architecture located downstream, and the spring quarter focuses on forests/timberland and forestry operations situated upstream. This course teaches specialized knowledge and examines the current overall situation together with the technologies and social systems that are associated with the existing issues and problems. Students are expected to gain specialized knowledge, deepen their understanding of the subject matter, and develop their own views and opinions.
The forests/timberland which account for 67% of Japan’s total land and all the related industries are closely tied to our daily life. The currently observed issues associated with forests/timberland, lumber production and wooden architecture are serving as a mirror that clearly reflects those aspects that Japan’s technology development and social system designing have lost sight of.
In the future, the students taking this course may not choose a profession that requires the knowledge covered in this course, but it is intended to equip them with expansive and deep thinking needed for each crucial decision making.

主題:
フォレスト・サイエンス・アンド・エンジニアリングの主題は、山林（森林）、林業から木材、木造です。フォレスト・サイエンス・アンド・エンジニアリングの“下流”では、中下流域にある木材や木造を中心に、その源である山林（森林）や林業も視野に入れながら、解説してきます。
目標レベル:
対象分野について、専門知識を擁する者として、解説を加え、自分の考えを述べられるようになる、この達成感を履修生とシェアできるレベルを、まずは目標とします。フォレスト・サイエンス・アンド・エンジニアリングの上流と下流を履修することで、山林（森林）、林業から木材、木造までの一通りの専門知識の獲得を目指します。
授業の手法など:
授業では、実態と問題についても解説します、そこでこの問題をどうしたら解けるかといった思考の転換も期待します。見て、聞いて、覚えるだけではなく、みずから考え、アウトプットするためにインプットする、という思考の転換です。人は、ある目的を持ち、具体的な問題解決を目指した時に、物事への理解と、知識の吸収が高まる傾向があります。「そこで踏みとどまって、自分で考えてみる」と、同じ授業でも得られるモノが違ってきます。どうしたら解けるか、これを解くためには、SFCでどのような知識、スキルを獲得したら良いか、主体的な学びを期待します。
Main theme:
The main theme of Forest Science and Engineering is forests/timberland, forestry, lumber production and wooden architecture. During the fall quarter, the course will focus on lumber production and wooden architecture located downstream with a view of forests/timberland and forestry industry operations situated upstream.
Objectives:
The primary objective of this course is for the students to share the sense of achievement with the instructor when they attain the ability to make comments and express their opinions as someone equipped with specialized knowledge on the subject area. The goal of studying the upstream and downstream areas of Forest Science and Engineering is to acquire an entire spectrum of specialized knowledge on forests/timberland, forestry operations, lumber production and wooden architecture.
Methodology:
The course also examines current situations and problems and issues. Students are expected to think outside the box in an effort to solve the problems. Students are not only expected to look, listen, and memorize, but also think, and input in order to output. We all tend to deepen understanding and absorb more knowledge when we have a specific challenge or purpose and try to solve a particular problem. Concentrating on such effort and thinking in your own head will help gain a great deal more in the classroom. Students are expected to tackle autonomous learning of problem solving and determining what knowledge and skills should be gained at the SFC to solve problems.

提出課題・試験・成績評価の方法など
成績評価は機械的に行います。出席を取ります。
出席回数が半分を超え、さらに授業中に行う確認小テスト（不定期、複数回）の総得点が半分を超えて、初めて成績評価の対象になります。また期末の提出課題が未提出の場合にも、成績評価の対象にはなりません。
成績は、出席回数、確認小テスト、最終テスト、提出課題の評価点数を同じ比率で加算して算出します。詳しくは、第1回の授業で説明します。
確認小テスト（授業中、不定期、複数回）で講義内容の修得状況を確認し、提出課題で修得した知識を元に、基礎的な専門知識を有する者として、各自自分の考えを表してみます。
初回と二回目の授業を除き、授業開始10分までに、遠隔授業への接続が確認できない学生は、欠席とします。また皆さんは学生であり、遠隔授業への携帯電話からの接続、移動しながらの接続は、認めません。
通信エラーで受講できなかった場合には、適宜、対応を考えます。
Students will be graded according to a set of rules. There will be roll calls.
Each student becomes eligible for grading after his/her attendance exceeds one half of the total number of sessions and after the total scores of small quizzes randomly given during classroom sessions exceed one half of the required scores. Additionally, if a student does not turn in the assignment due at the end of the term, he/she will not be eligible for grading.
Students’ grades are calculated by giving equal weights to attendance records, small quiz scores, final exam and assignment scores and adding them up. Details are explained at the first classroom session.
The small quizzes (given randomly during classroom sessions) will confirm the extent of students’ understanding of each of the classroom sessions. Through assignments, students will express their own ideas as someone who possesses basic specialized knowledge, based on the knowledge gained from the lectures.
Except for the first and second class, you will be considered absent if your connection to the remote lecture site cannot be confirmed by 10 minutes before the start time of each class. Connection via cell phone and connection while moving around are not allowed.
If a communication error prevented you from accessing a class online, measures will be devised as needed to address each such case.

本講は、感染の可能性のある授業形態のため、感染の心配を排除するため、諸々厳しいことは承知で、遠隔授業を行います。
授業のいかなる撮影、録音、録画、ダウンロードを禁じます。これは著作権・肖像権（学生個々の発表内容・肖像も含む）の保護と、双方向授業を遂行するためです。
必要に応じて参考資料を配布します。パワーポイントの資料は配布しません。
学生さんが集中して勉強できる授業環境とするため、最善を尽くします。ご理解とご協力をお願いします。
各人が安心して授業を受けることができる空間を選べます、集中して授業に参加して下さい。遠隔授業を楽しんでいきましょう。
授業開始前にKeio.jpのサイトから、Cisco Webex をインストールし、Cisco Webex Trainingの場所を確認して下さい。そしてソフトウェアの使い方に目を通して下さい。
今学期のフィールドワークは見送ります。希望者には、来学期以降のフィールドワークについて後日、連絡します。
授業計画は予定です。各回の授業内容、日程は、変更することがあります。
本講義内容を深めるため、特別研究プロジェクトを開講する年があります。実務家に教えて頂きながら、林業もしくは製材業、建築業の現場で演習を行います。この特別研究プロジェクトの履修希望者は「フォレスト・サイエンス・アンド・エンジニアリング（春学期”上流”、秋学期”下流”）」の修了が条件になります。なぜなら基礎知識がないと危険だからです。なお、この特別研究プロジェクトの旅費・宿泊費は個人負担になります。
In spite of difficulties, this course will be given remotely via Internet to eliminate the concern of infection because of potential infections due to the classroom format of this course.
Any picture taking, sound recording, video taking or downloading of the lecture is prohibited in order to protect any copyright and portrait right (including students’ presentations and their portraits or likeness) and to effect interactive classroom activities.
Reference materials will be distributed as needed. Power Point presentations used in class are not distributed.
Efforts will be made to create the best virtual classroom environment where you can focus on your study. Your understanding and cooperation will be greatly appreciated.

There will be no fieldwork for this semester. Upon request, information on fieldwork scheduled for following semesters will be given to you in the future.

In some academic years, there will be special study projects to augment classroom lectures. Led by practitioners, students will practice forestry operations, sawmilling or construction at real-world sites. Students who wish to participate in the special study projects are required to complete the Forest Science and Engineering spring quarter or fall quarter course as a prerequisite because the projects involve certain physical risks. All travel and accommodation cost associated with the special study projects will be the participating students’ responsibility.
