科目概要

ネットワーク環境を前提として、われわれの「移動」に関わる諸側面の再編がすすんでいる。ソーシャルメディアにおいては、位置情報はもとより行動軌跡やアクセス履歴といった情報の活用が進み、われわれのコミュニケーションや人間関係を変容させている。

本プロジェクトは、Buscher、Urry、Witchgerら（2011）が提案する「モバイル・メソッド」の視座や「ロケーティブ・メディア（locative media）」研究（たとえばWilken & Goggin, 2014）の動向をふまえて、人、モノ、情報、アイデア等の「移動」に関わる調査・研究と、デザインリサーチやソーシャルファブリケーション領域との接続を試みるものである。「モバイル・メソッド」では、おもに地理学、社会学をベースにしながら、人びとが日常のなかで（時には不可避的に）生成し続けている多様な「生活記録（life document）」の理解と、方法論の開発、調査・研究の設計等について探究する。

本APは、別に申請されている「モバイルメソッド（セオリー）」と連携して実施する。「モバイルメソッド（セオリー）」が主に文献や事例のリサーチとスタディを通じて方法論の開発、調査・研究の設計などの理論的研究に主眼を置くのに対し、「モバイルメソッド（プラクティス）」はその知見を実空間に応用することを試みる。実際に製作・設置・作動を繰り返すことで、「モバイルメソッド（セオリー）」研究を実践的に補完する。具体的には、FAB機材を用いたツールの製作、インターネットへの公開、フィールドワークやエクスカーション、キャンパス外での展示等である。

This project aims to explore the notions of "mobile methods" and "locative media" from geographical and socio-cultural approaches. Granted that we are "always on the move," we attempt to understand the ways in which various objects/incidents move in our day-to-day activities.
