研究会概要

目的・内容

　この研究会は、アラブ諸国の言語文化を学ぶことを通じて、現代のアラブ社会への理解を深めるとともに、日本社会とアラブ社会との接点を見出し、両者の橋渡しとなる活動を推進していくことを目的としています。

　アラブ諸国については紛争やテロ、ジェンダー格差といったネガティブな情報ばかりが伝えられ、そこに生きる人々の素顔や、長い歴史に育まれた豊かな生活文化に触れる機会は日本においてかなり限られていることから、偏見や誤解も広まっています。

　この研究会ではアラブ諸国の食文化やファッション、デザインなどの魅力を日本社会に発信したり、それらを実際に体験できる場を企画・実施したりする活動に取り組んできました。また、日本に暮らすアラブ系の人々にインタビューし、その内容をポスターなどの形で展示するプロジェクトも新たに立ち上げました。こうした活動を通じてアラブ諸国と日本との相互理解を促進し、多様性がプラスの価値を持つ共生社会を構想していきたいと考えています。

This course aims to deepen our understanding of the contemporary Arab society by studying the language and culture of Arab countries. Also we try to find a point of contact between the Japanese society and the Arab society, and promote the activities that will build a bridge between them. Concerning Arab countries, only negative information such as conflict, terrorism, and gender gap is conveyed, and opportunities to experience the real life of the Arab world and its rich cultural heritage are quite limited in Japan, therefore prejudice and misunderstanding are widespread. Our lab has tried to introduce the appeals of Arab food culture, fashion, design and so on to the Japanese society, and planned workshops where people can actually experience Arab culture. We have also newly launched a interview project with Arab people living in Japan. Through these activities, we hope to promote mutual understanding between Arab countries and Japan, and envision a symbiotic society where diversity has positive value.

課題

来期の研究プロジェクトのテーマ予定

基本的に今期のテーマを継続しますが、具体的な活動内容は学生の関心に応じて変動します。

＊春学期は、コロナ危機がアラブ・イスラーム社会に与える影響について、現地の方々へのオンライン・インタビューなどを通じて考察し、学期後半にはエジプトとモロッコの歴史と文化を比較するグループ発表にも取り組みました。秋学期は『アラビアン・ナイト』を文化史的に考察し、そこからデザイン・ファッション・食などのアイデアを引き出すというテーマを構想中です。

We will continue the same theme in the next semester with the necessary modification according to students' interests.

その他・留意事項

担当講師（有期）の任期は2022年3月までの予定です。

授業時間外に学外での研究活動への参加を求められることがあり、そうした活動への参加・貢献も授業評価の対象になります。

The lecturer's term of office expires in March 2022.

Students may be required to participate in research activities outside of class hours.
