「うたをつくる」ことに熱意のある者。作詞、作曲、歌唱などの経験があることが望ましい。2021年1月10日(日), 1月17日(日), 1月31日(日)の3日間のスケジュールを確実におさえることが出来る人。 Students who are passionate about songwriting. Previous experience on songwriting is preferred (but not necessary). You need to keep your schedule on January 10th, 17th, 31st, 2021. |

科目概要
本科目は、日本を代表するシンガーソングライター、さだまさしSFC特別招聘教授による「うたづくり」の特設科目である。「うたをつくる」とは如何なる行為なのか。「うたづくり」に必要な要素を掘り下げ、実践的に解説する。言葉をメロディーに乗せて歌い、表現することの意味について講義する。理論・実践双方の観点から、「うたづくり」について多角的に考察することで、音楽、文学、日本についての造詣を深める。実際に作詞作曲を行い、自身の哲学と表現、個性について向き合う機会を提供する。自己を取り巻く環境と情報への理解を促し、学生一人一人が人生を感度高く豊かに過ごすことが出来るように誘導することを講義の目的とする。「うたづくり」のプロセスを体感することを通して、学生それぞれが自分という「枠」と向き合い、壊し、如何に超えていくかについて、思慮する機会を与える。
Mr. Masashi Sada, distinguished Japanese singer, lyricist, composer, novelist, actor, and a film producer is in charge of this class. What is "songwriting?" Mr. Sada explains ingredients for creative songwriting with splendid demonstrations in this class. The lecture includes the following topics: 1) How a lyric becomes a song with melody, 2) songwriting and expression, 3) recognition of music, history, and literature in Japan, and 4) reconsideration of individual philosophy, etc. The main aim of this class is to promote self-understanding through the songwriting process.

What is "songwriting?" Mr. Sada explains ingredients for creative songwriting with splendid demonstrations in this class. 履修上の注意
この科目は3日間集中で実施する科目です。現在のところ、2021年1月10日(日), 1月17日(日), 1月31日(日)の3日間で実施予定です。受講者は、2020年9月28日（月）17:00 までに履修選抜課題を必ず提出してください（履修者数制限の項を参照のこと）。また履修者は秋学期に履修申告を忘れずに行なってください。
The class is scheduled on January 10th (Sun), 17th (Sun), and 31st (Sun), 2021. Students who want to take this class must submit an assignment for pre-registration screening by 5 pm on September 28th (Mon), 2020. Note that students are required to register for this class to get the credit in coming fall semester.
授業計画
第1回 イントロダクション
[Introduction]
「なぜ、うたをつくるか」という問いに主題を置き、本講義への導入を行うと共に、授業の目的や計画、流れについて説明する。
What is songwriting? Introduction to the class. the purpose and schedule will be explained.
第2回 うたづくりの流れ
[Overview of Songwriting]
「うたづくり」の流れ、作詞と作曲の関連性について概説する。何を伝えたいかを考え、軸となる言葉、テーマに沿った音を探し、メロディーや言葉が動き出すのを釣り人のように待つ、という一連のプロセスについて解説する。
Overview of songwriting will be explained. The process includes: considering what to tell, finding a "core" phrase, exploring sounds fitting with theme of a song, and feeling the dynamics of melody and words as if "a fisherman is waiting for a hit".
第3回 デモンストレーション
[Demonstration of Songwriting]
一見すると「無理ではないか」というテーマを元に、「うたづくり」のデモンストレーションを行う。コードからつくる、サウンドからつくる、サウンドの流れの中で単旋律をつくる等、作詞作曲の基本要素について、実演を交えながら解説する。
To demonstrate the songwriting process, Mr. Sada will show you how a song is created from "an impossible theme."
第4回 イントネーションとメロディ
[Intonation and Melody]
言葉のイントネーションとメロディーの関連性について解説する。鳴き声、笑い声、掛け声とメロディーの関係性、メロディーと記憶、言葉が聞こえるうたづくり、日本語と12音階の関連性等、言葉の美しさと奥行きについて解説する。
The relationship between intonation and melody will be explained. How a vocalized sound relates to a melody, how a melody elicits a memory, the relationship between Japanese intonation and the scale etc.
第5回 17音のうたづくり
[Songwriting with 17 Sounds]
「17音の中に自分の今一番伝えたいことを詰め込む」というテーマでうたづくりの実習を行う。「季節感を交えた17文字の中で、自分が伝えたい内容を17音で表現する」という課題に取り組む。
A workshop of songwriting on the first day. The assignment is "creating a song with seventeen sounds."
第6回 作品発表とレビューⅠ
[Review of Songwriting 1]
前回講義の課題であった「17音のうたづくり」の作品発表を行い、そのレビューを行う。

第7回 歌詞と言葉
[Lyrics and Words]
「なぜ、歌詞があるのか」という問いについて言及し、「歌詞を書く意味」と「言葉の必要性」について解説する。自分が発する言葉が相手に何を届けるのか、言葉が歌詞となりメロディーに乗る意味、言葉の奥にある温度湿度を伝えるうたづくりについて解説する。
Why do we need lyrics? A lecture will be provided on the meaning of writing lyrics.
第8回 うたづくりと日本
[Songwriting and Japan]
日本とは何か、日本語とは何かをテーマとして、日本語の響きの特性について、漢詩や英語の韻と比較しつつ、石橋秀野、上田敏等の俳句や文学作品、岩波の古典文学大系、万葉集、古今集、古今和歌集、勅撰和歌集、建礼門院右京大夫集を紹介し、うたづくりとの関連性について言及する。

第9回 うたづくりと哲学・神秘性
[Songwriting and Philosophy]
うたと哲学の関連性について講義する。「秋桜」の作詞作曲の背景について言及しつつ、選ぶ哲学と言葉の制御の変化について、事例を挙げながら解説する。テーマの複雑さや難解さによって、説明の必要性の有無が分かれること、その必要性によって発するべき言葉の量が変わること、哲学が決まることで言葉の選び方が決まることについて解説する。また、哲学では説明しきれない神秘性とうたづくりの関連性について言及する。
A lecture will be proved on songwriting and philosophy. Consider how individual "philosophy" or internal thoughts affects the selection of words.
第10回 実習 1

これまでの授業内容を踏まえつつ、「17音のうたづくり」の作品内容をさらに発展させ、「自分オリジナルのうたづくり」に取り組む。

第13回 うたづくりと個性
[Songwriting and Individuality]
うたづくりと個性について解説する。自分の中の音楽を解き放つ方法、模倣から創造へのプロセス、プロとアマチュアのうたづくりの違い、作品の仕上げと奥行きについて述べる。また、中島みゆきや松任谷由実等、他のアーティストを事例として挙げつつ、個性と哲学・神秘性の関連について講義する。
The importance of "individuality" will be lectured. Importance of expressing yourself, the difference between imitation and creation, professionals and amateurs will be explained.
第14回 枠を越える
[Face with Yourself: Out of the Box]
自分という「枠」と如何に向き合い、壊し、超えていくかについて、担当教員の培ってきた経験を学生に伝える。インスピレーションやデータを駆使し、自分の限界と如何に立ち向かうのか、何を武器として、自分の枠を作り、そして破壊するのか。うたづくりを通して、自分という「枠」と向かい合うことの重要性について講義する。
How to face with yourself through songwriting. The importance of self-understanding will be explained to realize the "out of the box."
第15回 まとめ
[Summary]
「うたをつくる」とは、自分にとって、そして人類にとって如何なる行為であるのか。質疑応答を行いながら講義内容を統括し、授業全体をまとめる。
