科目概要
本授業では、住民、自治体、NPO、企業など、地域の多彩な主体によって取り組まれている各地のまちづくりの最新動向を紹介し、成功要因、課題を明らかにした上で、その意義、可能性について議論します。また、まちづくりにおいて大切なポイントとなる、多様な主体間の協働を実現し、資源をいかし、地域の問題解決を果たすための具体的方策についても検討を行います。まちづくりの実践、地域活性化政策などに関心のある全ての学生を対象とします。秋学期の本授業では、まちづくりのソフト面を中心に取り上げます。 授業では、プラットフォーム、ネットワーク、信頼、地域社会学などに関する理論を整理し、観光、農業、商店街、ひとづくり、伝統産業、地方創生などをテーマとする先進的なまちづくりの事例研究を行います。また実践知を育むために、一方的な講義だけでなく、まちづくりの分野で全国的に活躍されているゲストによる講演やケースディスカッションも適宜取り入れます。 最終成果として、地域の問題解決に関するレポートを作成してもらうことを検討しています。
This class will introduce the current movement of community innovation conducted by various entities such as residents, local government, NPO and companies, clarify the reasons for success as well as problems and discuss the significance and the possibility. We also examine the concrete measure to realize collaboration of various entities, which is important for community innovation, to make the best use of resources and to solve regional problems. The class is for the students who are interested in community innovation practice or regional development policies.
In the class, the theory of platform, network, trust and sociology will be examined, and we will conduct the case study of advanced community innovation with the concept of tourism, agriculture, shopping street, human resource development and traditional industry. In order to develop our practical knowledge, we will invite special guests who play active roles in community development and also introduce case discussions.
The essay about community problem solution will be expected as a final assignment.

提出課題・試験・成績評価の方法など
授業では、SFC-SFSを利用して、レポートや感想の提出を義務づけます。また、ディスカッションを中心とした授業が多いため、積極的な発言が求められます。最終成果として、地域の問題解決につながるレポートを提出してもらいます。 成績評価は、出席が約30%、クラスへの貢献（発言、課題レポートの内容など）が約40%、最終成果レポートの内容が約30%の割合で判断します。単位取得の条件として、出席回数、最終成果レポートの期限内提出のルールがあります。詳細については、第1回イントロダクションで説明します。
The essays are requested to submit on SFC-SFS site. The class is conducted by the discussion therefore your active remarks will be expected. The final essay about the solution of regional problem will be compulsory.
Evaluation is 30% class attendance, 40% class contribution (remarks, essay, etc.) and 30% final outcome. Rules are explained at the guidance.

本授業は、議論やレポートなどかなりのワークロードを必要とします。そのため授業内容に強い興味、関心、情熱がある方の参加を希望します。 なお、ゲストのご都合などで、授業の日程、内容などが一部変更される可能性があることをご理解ください。
This class requires substantial workload such as discussion in the class, essays as well as the final proposal therefore participation of highly motivated students is expected. The schedule and contents of the syllabus may change due to the guest speakers.

第2回 まちづくりの概念（講義、ディスカッション）
[Concept of Community Innovation (Lecture, Discussion)]
まちづくりとは何か、どのような意義、可能性があるのかなどについて、経営学、社会学などの様々な観点から説明します。
The significance and possibility of community innovation will be explained from the various viewpoints such as business and sociology.
第3回 地域資源の再認識（ケースディスカッション、講義）
[Re-recognition of Regional Resources (Case Discussion, Lecture)]
地域資源を見直し、住民の意識を変えていく方策について学びます。事例として、高知県黒潮町のNPO法人砂浜美術館＜http://www.sunabi.com/＞の取り組みを紹介し、その意義や可能性、課題について考察します。
We will study the measure to re-recognize the local resources and change the consciousness of local residents. We will read the case of NPO Sunahama Art Gallery ＜http://www.sunabi.com/＞ and discuss the significance, possibility and problem of their activity.

葉っぱをビジネス化し、地域再生にも貢献し、全国から注目されている「株式会社いろどり」＜http://www.irodori.co.jp/＞の成功要因を分析し、事業展開上の課題について検討します。
We will examine the success factors of “Irodori Co., Ltd.” < http://www.irodori.co.jp/>, which successfully converted “leaves” to business and contributed regional revitalization. We will also discuss the problems for their further business development.

[Italian Slow City Project (Discussion, Lecture)]
1990年代に立ち上がったスローシティ運動（Citta Slow）＜http://www.cittaslow.org＞を紹介し、資源を最大限にいかす方策について議論します。
We will introduce “Slow City Movement （Citta Slow）” ＜http://www.cittaslow.org＞ which started in 1990s, and discuss the measure to maximize the regional resources.
第6回 縮退する時代のまちづくり（ディスカッション、講演、講義）
[Town development in times of degeneration (Discussion, Guest Lecture, Lecture)]
衰退する地方都市を活性化していくときの大切なポイントについて議論します。ゲストとして、多くの人が 集うコミュニティとなった岩見沢駅（グッドデザイン大賞、建築学会賞受賞）を設計した、株式会社ワークヴィジョンズ＜http://www.workvisions.co.jp/＞代表取締役（建築家）の西村浩氏をお迎えします。
The important points to revitalize declining local city is discussed. We will invite Mr. Hiroshi Nishimura, the president of Workvisions Co., Ltd. and a famous architect. He designed Iwamizawa Station to be a successful community center for the local residents, and earned Good Deisgn Grand Award as well as Architectural Institute of Japan Prize.

苦況が続いている中心市街地、商店街の活性化のための方策を議論します。事例として、先進的取り組みを行っている高松市の丸亀町商店街＜http://www.kame3.jp/＞を取り上げ、コミュニティビジネスの要諦について学びます。
We will discuss the measure to revitalize declining shopping streets. The advanced case of Marugame-cho shopping street in Takamatsu ＜http://www.kame3.jp/＞ will be introduced to learn about community business.
第8回 地方創生政策（ディスカッション、講演、講義）
[Regional Revitalization Policy (Discussion, Guest Lecture, Lecture)]
地方創生は国の重要政策です。佐賀県の山口祥義知事をスペシャルゲストとしてお迎えして、地方創生政策の現状と今後について検討します。（公務などのご都合により変更の可能性もありますのでご理解ください）
Regional revitalization is an important national policy. We will invite a top leader of prefectural government as a special guest to discuss about the current situation and the future of local creation policy.
第9回 過疎対策（ディスカッション、講義）

政府の過疎対策の諸施策について紹介し、過疎地域再生のための方策について全員で議論を行います。
The depopulation countermeasure of the government will be introduced and the revitalization policy for depopulated cities will be discussed.

第11回 域学連携のまちづくり（ディスカッション、講義）

昨今、まちづくりの重要な担い手として大学の存在に注目が集まっています。総務省や文部科学省では、地域大学連携を積極的に支援しています。ここでは、地域における大学の役割、可能性について、SFCでの取り組みを参考にしながら議論します。
Recently, universities are expected to act major role in community development. Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications as well as Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology support university-community collaboration positively. Here, we will discuss the role and possibility of universities in the region, referring the activities of SFC.
