科目概要

This course aims at introducing students to the contemporary Indonesia. It will cover the recent changes in Indonesian society, popular culture and sub-cultures, and business to some extent. A guest lecture will be organized to provide students with current information.

Objectives:
1. The class provides a general idea of contemporary Indonesia.
2. The class provides first hand knowledge about understanding Indonesian's society.

Teaching Methods:
The class will be conducted in short lectures and discussions. Students are expected to read the material before class in order to answer discussion questions. Students are also expected to prepare presentations.

4 Reaction papers: 40% (any given and discussed topics in the class)
1 Presentation: 60% (on topic that is decided on the 3rd week)
