Course Description:

This Project offers you the chance to learn about sustainability, event and media planning,local area aswell asleisure sports tourism . Students will be expected to assist an ongoing project by commmunicating with Fortune 500 companies ( corporate sponsors), artists/designers, athletes as well as government and schools.Field research is key andguest speakers will be invited.For this Project, excellent speaking andwritingskills in Japanese and English are needed. An extra foreign langauge is ideal.



Learning outcomes:

You will learn about thesustainability issues related to the marine environment, city planning andlarge sporting events. You will be assiting an exsiting community organization with their event, media and program planning.You will also help organize out of classmarine leisure sportsprogram for youth(Sailing Experience Activity).



Teacher's comment:

This course involves self-directed research, event planning, interacting with professionals from largecompanies, as well as potential field and study trips.
